I've been telling you guys about how innovative our project is going to be, but I really haven't talked about the meat of it yet, have I? There's just so much to talk about and I guess all I really have to do is lay down the cards one by one.
So here's one of the most important ones;
The Revolution.
When this concept was introduced to me, my boss didn't just talk about making recruitment global. See, changing the world requires a lot. So what really makes this concept unique? It gives jobseekers the power to take charge of their careers.
One of the first things my boss asked me during the interview was, "Are you looking for a job?"
"Yes. That's why I'm here."
"No you're not," he said.
Then he added, "How do you go about looking for a job? You scan the papers, browse job search sites and send your applications to the job posts, correct?"
"Yes."
"See! You're not looking for a job. You're just waiting for employers to advertise job vacancies. You are not making any initiative to let them know you exist! You're not looking for a job, you're just waiting for them to be advertised."
When you think about it, it's true. Since time immemorial, most of us jobseekers are left waiting for job ads and postings on the newspapers, magazines, the Internet, etc. Only a few (usually fresh graduates) really go out of their way to do walk-in applications; scour cities, tightly clutching portfolios in hand, to look for a job. This is why, most of the time it takes weeks, months (or if you're really unlucky, years) before you actually get a job, and it may not even be the one you're really vying for.
Now, we're trying to change this system with this revolutionary job search site. Because employment is a two-way system, we're getting you involved in the process. Instead of keeping you waiting, we let you do something about getting that dream job of yours. We let you advertise yourself; let the world know about who you are and what you can do.
"But I'm already doing that when I post my resume on job search sites," you say? No you're not. Read the Terms of Use of the job search site you have in mind, because ours is the only job search site which gives employers unlimited FREE access to your full profile. With this site, you advertise yourself in the truest sense.
Unlike other job search sites, our site does not sell your profile/resume to employers who wish to view them. Ours openly showcase your skills and qualifications online (of course you still control the privacy settings of your account). And because our database is global, employers, both in your country and from around the world, can view your skills and qualifications online.
By advertising yourself in the global employment market, you take charge of your career. You let employers see you while you efficiently search for opportunities yourself.
In these trying times, when competition is way too tight, we all need to be proactive, productive and efficient especially when it comes to job hunting. This is the time to stand-out and literally show your determination to get the job you want and open your doors to bigger and better opportunities (be it locally or internationally).
It's time to take charge of your future. It's time to break free!
